Dear Bally Cormac Clan:
I will get right to the family news and business from 1988 and 1989.

VP Pat Bennison
secretary Paul Weiner
treasurer Fran Williford

Event Winners of 1988:

The following made it all work:
Corn huskers -- Terry Weiner & friend, Jennifer Haynes, Jessica Griffin, Joan Dowling, Jim Courson, Paul Weiner (Bob's)
Pancake Chefs (5:30 am) -- Jessica Griffin & Jennifer Haynes
Swimming Judges -- Dick Speer & Peter Kouides
Talent Show MC -- Stan Williford
Raffle Coordinator -- Bill Everett
Pinata -- Pat Bennison
Saratoga Race-Tout -- Pat Bennison
Golf Starter -- Jay Weiner
Sat Nite Dinner/Show-Room -- The Weiners Lawn (?)
Sun Mass - Church -- The Bennisons Lawn
Sanitizers -- There were several anonymous who should be praised for clean up duty, before, during and after the reunion. However we did note Jim Weiner made regular deliveries to the dump. Lois & Ferd Ruplin raked the beach. Who left broken bottles for Bally Cormac?
Three cheers and thanks to all of the above. Let's cut down on the golf balls and award all these people.
I REMEMBER WHEN grandma Bridget rode down from the big house to inspect the activity at the bungalows. This was shortly after she deeded all of her property to her children (around 1930) ie. Minnie Rowan, Fichard McCormick, Elliot McCormick, Belle Williford, Edith McCormick & Ruth Weiner. Also a parcel was deeded to her cousin Kate Conner.
Bridget was an invalid at this time and she was riding in a car driven by, I think, uncle Elliot. But I remember the day was hot and the dirt was dry. A bunch of us adolescents were running wild and kicking up the dust. The adults were fixing up their camps for the patriarchal review.
I can still see her smiling as she waved to us. She inspected the arrangements she had made and seemed happy.

NEWS

Newly marrieds Chris & Pat Weiner also Mark & Jane Whitney this fall.

On October 17, 1988 Edmond M. Rowan, our oldest cousin died at the age of 80. We all mourn this loss. Ed was born on the 16 of August 1909 the first of the Rowan family. A career army officer, graduate of West Point where services were held in November. I sadly was unable to attend.

Several of our McCormick clan have expressed directly and indirectly to your secretary (me) their feeling of not really belonging. The predominant reason for these feelings is that they have no legal tie to the McCormick estate. I believe we would all be agreeable with any reasonable consideration to assure the continued spirit and vitality of the BALLY CORMAC.

Therefore a few of us who are aware of this situation and believe that all McCormick descendants have a share of the estate. We hereby submit to the 1989 BALLY CORMAC reunion a petition as follows:
WHEREAS, some of us are owners of an undivided share of the 20' (approx) wide strip of property located between the Weiners and the Bennisons.
WHEREAS, this property can only be used for lake front access.
WHEREAS, lake front access is actually over a dirt road that winds across all of the family lake front properties.
WHEREAS, there is probable duplication of tax by the tax office.
WHEREAS, our patriarch Bridget, in her wisdom apportioned the property among her children and charged them to use and enjoy the property for their mutual benefit.
THEREFORE WE SUBMIT:
"That we dedicate the strip to all of the descendants of Andrew & Bridget, this to be in the form of a quit claim by the present share holders in favor of BALLY CORMAC, and a small executive group be named to handle taxes etc, including informing all descendants of their heritage.
As the first order of business for the 1989 reunion, your secretary makes a motion that we act on this petition.

I would like to give these words to all of the McCormick clan.
"WE ARE FOR A MOMENT WITH YOU,
AND THAT MOMENT, OUR ETERNITY,
IS LOST, LEST WE ARE REMEMBERED"

Like the lamb who
on the frozen lake doth sit
my tale is told

your secretary

Paul Weiner
